Prepare for your quarterly tax updates
Making Tax Digital requires quarterly income and expense summaries. KiTax makes record keeping simple so your quarterly figures are ready. Direct submission to HMRC is not currently available.
What are quarterly updates?
Under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, HMRC requires sole traders and landlords to maintain digital records and prepare a summary of their income and expenses every quarter. Each update is cumulative, covering the period from 6 April to the end of that quarter.
Cumulative summaries
Each update summarizes your total income and total expenses for the tax year to date. KiTax calculates these cumulative totals automatically from your digital records, helping you stay on top of your quarterly requirements.
See your readiness score
KiTax shows you a readiness score that flags missing records, uncategorised transactions, and anything that could cause problems, so you know exactly what needs attention. Direct HMRC filing is not currently available in KiTax.
Deadline reminders built in
KiTax sends you email reminders 2 weeks and 3 days before each quarterly deadline so your figures are ready in good time. Late submissions to HMRC can result in penalties — we help you keep your records complete and ready to use.
